Foil Blocking sometimes known as Gold Foil Blocking
is a heat stamping process originally used
with gold leaf to print on to leather. It has now developed
into a well-established method of decorating or finishing
products. There is an extensive range of foils from
basic spot colour to complex reflective diffraction
foils; transfers can also be applied using this method
of printing. Hot foil blocking can be used to decorate
material such as plastic, leather and wood.
At Stable Print we can print 1,2,3 and 4 spot colours,
metallic foils, diffraction foils and even transfers.
All of this can be done onto flat or raised surfaces
(sometimes referred to as tipping out). Our range of
Foil Blocking machines can be fitted with shuttles,
turntable and conveyor belts to cope with different
production runs.
Facilities are available to make low cost blocking
dies in house for tipping out work, we can arrange for
more complex dies to be made for flat or convex surface
work.
